Grading System
Grading Scheme for Examinable Common Curriculum Subjects
With effect from 2025, a new grading scheme will be implemented for examinable common curriculum subjects at lower secondary level. These subjects are Art, Design & Technology (D&T), and Food & Consumer Education (FCE).
Under this new system, student progress and skills will be assessed using a four-level grading scale.

Grade Mapping Table
Grade mapping is only used when there is a need to compute aggregate scores using grades of subjects taken at more demanding levels for purposes of post-secondary progression, e.g. ELMAB3 for admission to Year 2 of Higher Nitec (HN) and Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP), ELR2B2 for polytechnic admissions.
