Gan Eng Seng School Values in Action VIA programme
Gan Eng Seng School’s Values-in-Action (VIA) programme reflects the school’s long-standing legacy of service and giving back to the community, inspired by our founder, Gan Eng Seng, and his belief in education with a heart for others.
Through a structured school-wide approach, students engage in meaningful service at every level. Secondary 1 students care for the environment by cleaning the school premises, while Secondary 2 students extend their efforts to the wider community through neighbourhood clean-up activities. Secondary 3 students focus on caring for seniors by engaging residents in the Henderson–Dawson area and partnering with centres such as St Andrew’s Nursing Home (Henderson) and Thye Hua Kwan Senior Activity Centre.
At the upper secondary level, Secondary 4 students take greater ownership by initiating their own class-based VIA projects, partnering with organisations such as Mobile Ageing Activity Centre @ Redhill and Singapore Red Cross Home for the Disabled, as well as working with senior homes and MK students.
Through these experiences, students develop empathy, responsibility, and a deeper commitment to serving the community, carrying forward the enduring spirit of service that is part of Gan Eng Seng School’s heritage.
