2021 Secondary One e-Registration
On behalf of all staff and students, we welcome your child to our Gessian family! Your child is now part of a well-established school that has, for more than 130 years, produced Gessians of Excellence, Standing and Significance.
Due to the ongoing COVID19 situation, we are unable to meet you face-to-face this year. Hence, we have uploaded all the relevant information for the Secondary One (2021) e-Registration on this website.
I. Important Information
Parents will be notified of Sec 1 e-registration via. the MOE Parents’ Gateway (PG) on 23 December 2020. For parents without access to PG, please read the letter here first.
Kindly take note that your child’s Form Teacher will give you a call on 23 December 2020 between 9 am and 12 pm. Please keep yourself free during this time to talk to the Form Teacher as he/she will need certain information from you regarding your child. This is also an opportunity for you to get to know your child’s Form Teacher.
Additional important information can be found at the links below:
- Mother Tongue Language (MTL) matters;
- Art Elective Programme (AEP) and Music Elective Programme (MEP);
- How to purchase the GESS school uniform; and
- Details of the respective book lists, online order, and self-collection dates.
II. MOE Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS)
The infographic below provides information on the aforementioned scheme. Hardcopy application forms for the FAS can be obtained from the school General Office from 23 December 2020.
III. GESS Parent-Teacher Association (PTA)
The GESS PTA holds the distinguished record of being the first such association in Singapore. Please complete this online form.
Parents of all students in GESS are automatically enrolled as members of the PTA. The school will be making a one-time collection of PTA membership fees of $24.00, on 7 January 2021. This amount is based on an annual subscription fee of $6.00.
IV. Subject Based Banding (SBB) offers
For students in the N(T) or N(A) streams who are offered SBB subjects, Form Teachers will provide more details when they call parents on 23 December 2020.
V. Secondary One (2021) transfer appeal to GESS
Due to Safety Management Measures, transfer appeals will be made online this year. Do ensure that your child’s/ward’s PSLE T-score meets the school’s cut-off point before submitting your appeal.
Please complete this FormSG document with your child’s particulars, by 28 December 2020 (Monday). Do have softcopies of your child’s Primary 6 and PSLE results slips, CCA transcripts, and posting result slip ready, as you will be required to upload these documents.
As we are anticipating a fair number of responses, we will only contact the parents whose children have been shortlisted.
For more information on transfer appeals based on serious medical conditions, you may refer to the MOE weblink here.
With the strong support of parents, staff, and students of GESS, we hope to see your child transit well to his/her Secondary School life!
